Advisement Frequently Asked Questions
- The best way to be sure your credits will transfer is to be in contact with your intended transfer college or university. During your time at Heartland stay up to date with current transfer information and meet with your advisor regularly.
Current and Returning Students
If you are a current Heartland student or a student returning to Heartland after being away, you can make an appointment within your myHeartland account.
Make an Advisement Appointment:
- Login to your myHeartland account
- Enter your login name and password
- Once in the system, click on the Appointments tab
- Select Advisement
- Select the campus location for your appointment: Normal, Pontiac or Lincoln
- Select your type of appointment and reason for appointment
- Search for days and times
- Select your preferred appointment time
*Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time to check in with Admissions.
New Students
If you are a new student to Heartland, you will meet with an advisor at your New Student Appointment
You can view your financial aid status within your myHeartland account. Click on the IRIS tab and icon, and on the right hand column you will see your To-Do List.

Please consult with your academic advisor for details on your specific plan of study to determine your timeline toward graduation.
You can view your midterm and your final grades through IRIS in your myHeartland account.
How to view your grades:
- Login to your myHeartland account
- Enter your login name and password
- Once in the system, click on the IRIS tab and icon
- Click on "Student Center"
- Click on the drop down button next to "Other Academic" and select "Grades"
You can populate your grades to show your midterm and/or your final grades based on what semester you choose.
- Registering for classes is easy!
- If you would like your Heartland transcript sent to another college or university, please submit a request for Heartland transcripts
Please take a few moments each semester to confirm your student information your myHeartland account, in IRIS. If you ever need to update your information (i.e. phone number, mailing address, emergency contact, etc…) please find directions on how to do so here
